Veterans Administration
I am writing this letter with a great deal of animosity, and to decry the way our country treats our veterans concerning their health care. Most of the veterans have served their country faithfully, and many have served in combat situations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam, only to come home and find out the government has not kept their promise; to take care of their health issues. They have been denied timely appointments, having to wait for months to see a doctor. The long wait times were deliberately covered up by the falsification of records. The administrators of these VA Hospitals knew what was going on, and they were given bonuses for falsification of records. This mistreatment of veterans has been going on for many years; it is disgraceful, shameful, and criminal.
Our President knew, there were terrible problems within the Veteran’s Administration when he took office in 2008. He has had six years to deal with this gross mistreatment of the veterans, and he has done nothing to stop it. The FBI should have been called in a long time ago to investigate the allegations, and people involved should have been held accountable, many years ago, for this gross treatment of our veterans. The people that made up these secret waiting lists need to be brought to justice. They should be arrested on charges of criminal negligent homicide.
I would like to know; how many families is this administration allowed to cripple, maim, and destroy? How many veterans is the Veterans Administration allowed to reject and send home to die a painful and agonizing death before the Obama Administration even makes an attempt to stop the carnage?
The President is the CEO of this country, and he should be held accountable too. According to the Constitution Article 1 section II, the House of Representatives shall have the sole power of impeachment. Why won’t they get off their posteriors, and impeach the President? He needs to be brought before the Senate; tried and removed from office. What are they waiting for, the President to totally destroy our country? The President talks about leaving behind a legacy; the only thing he is leaving behind is a wide path of grief, misery, and destruction.
During the 2012 election campaign Mitt Romney, when he thought the microphone was off, made the statement, “The old and sick are a bunch of worthless eaters.” Is this what is going on with the VA. Are these veterans a burden to the government, so they send them home to die? Is their health care being rationed? If so, are the sick and elderly on Social Security the next target? Is this the way Obama Care is going to be run? Is the government going to decide who gets health care and who lives and who dies?
The House of Representatives have just introduced a bill to fire people in the VA. The bill is stalled in Congress waiting for the Senate to pass the bill; where is the urgency? Why does it literally take an act of Congress to fire the people involved, so they can be held accountable and punished for their crimes and actions?
I am sure General Shinseki was an excellent general. The military is structured much different than our government. In the military, commands are followed or soldiers are held accountable. In government, the chain of command has no accountably; as a result, Shinseki doesn’t have a clue how to handle his subordinates. He has had more than five years to solve this problem, but he has done nothing. He is totally useless, and he needs to go.
I watched the President’s speech on television. It was basically a lot of jabberwocky. He basically said, I am going to get to the bottom of this, and people will be held accountable. How many times have we heard this lie? I don’t believe he intends to do a thing about how poorly our veterans are being treated. I could not see any urgency in him wanting to take care of this problem immediately. How many times have we heard the President say, “I don’t need Congress, I have a phone and pen.” He can use Executive Orders to legislate illegal laws without going through Congress. Why can’t he use his pen and sign an Executive Order, and take care of the VA problem immediately? I think; the truth is, our government really doesn’t intend to solve the problem, or do a thing about it.
All the freedoms we have were purchased on the battlefield, and we owe the veterans a lot. I would like to say; Thank You to all the veterans, who have sacrificed so much, so we can all enjoy the freedoms we have in this country.
