Comcast offers free channel guide update for DTA(mini cable box) customers in Towanda area.
Comcast has recently released a free firmware
update for their DTA(mini cable box) customers in the Towanda
area which added a channel guide

Many customers in the Towanda Area
Access their Comcast Cable channels
with a box similar to this
The update which was release around Christmas times adds a on
screen channels guide and a menu with a few extra features including
parental locks to their DTA cable boxes. Previously customers
were forced to lease a full size digital cable box to have a
onscreen program guide as the DTA boxes which customers were
required to lease beginning in the spring of 2014, were not
compatible with the onscreen program guide built into many newer tv's. Customers can access the newly added channel guide by pressing
the enter key on their DTA box remote. The info key which
previously would only display the name of the channel and channel
number now displays actual show information and will allow customers
to access the setup menu where users access settings for audio,
channel guide, and parental control locks. Customers can use the
number keys on the remote to navigate with the guide.
It is
worth nothing that customers may have to reset(unplug and plug back
in) their boxes for the update to take effect.
After the boxes has been reset a
message indicating the update is being downloaded will be displayed,
after about 10 minutes the customers should be able to access the
newly added features. What is nice about this update is that it is
free and does not require the subscriber to get new cable
equipment. Anyone with comments on this article can send their
